SEMANA DEL FILM EXPERIMENTAL DE LA PLATA
“The Experimental Film Week from La Plata (Semana del Film Experimental de La Plata, Argentina) is a non-competitive exhibition, non commercial in nature, where experimental films are shown in their original format (super 8 and 16mm). It is the oldest exhibition of its kind devoted exclusively to experimental film-making in South America. Over these years we had the chance to received many of the most important film-makers from Argentina and abroad.”

“MUTA is a festival that combines the use of audiovisual archives, and reappropriated material of any type and origin for the production of new content from cinema, film performance, sound art and artistic installation. We are specially interested in promoting the preservation of film archives, both for diffusion and creative purposes.
Before the hegemony of the image, succumb or doubt them. We choose the latter. Question what it represents and search beyond its surface. We believe in the multiple possibilities of interpretation of moving images and the power that their appropriation has to demonstrate it. Coating, manipulating or reusing have been frequent concepts in each of our previous editions. And this year, due to the health context, we add another that defines us fully: mutate.”

LA SUR REAL FILM FESTIVAL
“ABOUT THE SUR
La Sur Real is a film festival dedicated to exhibiting short films made in the Global South that propose a Decolonial reading of the territories, mainly in Abya Yala, claiming their own emancipatory knowledge. La Sur Real is looking for film creations that propose a critique of the existing relationship between the global north and south, question patriarchal white supremacy and share contexts that dismantle Western normative precepts.
With screenings in Berlin, Leipzig and Bogotá, it aims to share points of view that generate new transformative imaginaries, that stand apart from the existing normative hegemonic versions, that take up knowledge that has remained excluded, that manage to broaden the ways in which reality and therefore images are perceived; that make collective identities more flexible, that integrate the material, the nonhuman and the animal as relational, generating different ways of connecting us even with the devices associated with cinema.
In its programme, this festival shares audiovisual works that deal with struggles, the memory of the south, the exiles, the conflicts, the rescued archives, the silenced stories, those cinematographic creations that revindicate migrants mainly in historically hegemonic countries, that highlight the existence of our bodies as autonomous political subjects capable of our own self-determination, masters of our voice and thought.“
